Awards and Recognition
​
Dr. Çelik received the Best Doctoral Dissertation Award from the International Trade Network Association (uTrader) in 2024. His doctoral dissertation focused on the strategic analysis of Aegean ports in Turkey from the perspective of the One Belt One Road project.

Research Project Experience
​
Dr. Çelik has been actively involved in nationally funded research projects focusing on green port strategies, environmental sustainability, and strategic decision-making in the Turkish port sector.
​
He serves as the Principal Investigator of a TÜBİTAK 1002 project on determining the environmental priorities of the Turkish port sector through Delphi, DEMATEL, ANP, and GARCH methods.
​
He also participates as a Researcher in a TÜBİTAK 3005 project on the integration of green port strategies in Turkey and the development of a roadmap for sustainable port management.

Publication Achievements

Dr. Çelik has authored and co-authored international journal articles, national journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters in the fields of maritime transportation, port management, maritime sustainability, environmental management, maritime policy, and decision-making methods.

His research has been published in internationally recognized journals such as Transport Policy, Marine Pollution Bulletin, Ocean Engineering, Applied Ocean Research, Marine Policy, Marine Environmental Research, Maritime Policy & Management, and Research in Transportation Business and Management.

Academic Career Progression

Dr. Çelik is currently an Assistant Professor of Maritime Business Administration at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, Faculty of Maritime Studies. Before his appointment as Assistant Professor, he served as a Research Assistant at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University and Dokuz Eylül University.

His academic background, research experience, and teaching activities are centered on maritime business administration, port management, maritime logistics, sustainability, and strategic decision-making in maritime systems.

Academic and Administrative Contributions

In addition to his research and teaching activities, Dr. Çelik has contributed to academic and administrative duties within the university. His responsibilities have included participation in faculty and departmental commissions related to graduation ceremonies, student transfer and adaptation processes, and internship coordination.

Teaching Contribution

Dr. Çelik teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in maritime business administration, port management, maritime policy, maritime logistics, terminal operations, maritime supply chain management, and safe cargo operations.
