1. Maritime Sustainability, Green Ports and Environmental Management
RESEARCH
My research focuses on maritime business administration, with particular emphasis on port management, maritime sustainability, green port strategies, maritime logistics, maritime policy, and decision-support methods for complex maritime problems.
I am particularly interested in how ports, shipping systems, and maritime organizations respond to environmental, strategic, operational, and policy-related challenges. My studies commonly combine maritime sector knowledge with analytical decision-making methods to support sustainable and evidence-based management.
Main Research Areas
Maritime Sustainability and Green Ports
This research area focuses on environmental sustainability in ports and maritime transportation. My work addresses green port strategies, environmental priorities in the port sector, IMO-related sustainability targets, and strategic pathways for reducing the environmental impact of maritime operations.
Port Management and Maritime Logistics
My research examines port operations, terminal management, maritime logistics, and the strategic role of ports within global transport networks. This area also includes studies on port competitiveness, terminal operators, port development, and maritime supply chain management.
Maritime Policy and Strategic Decision-Making
This area focuses on policy-oriented and strategy-based approaches to maritime transportation. My studies explore maritime policy frameworks, sustainable port strategies, and strategic decision-making models for maritime organizations and stakeholders.
Belt and Road Initiative and Maritime Silk Road
A significant part of my academic work focuses on the Belt and Road Initiative and the Maritime Silk Road, particularly from the perspective of port development, regional maritime strategies, and the strategic positioning of ports along maritime trade routes.
Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Methods
My research frequently applies multi-criteria decision-making methods to maritime problems. These include ANP, DEMATEL, Fuzzy Delphi, SWOT-TOWS, FMEA-based approaches, and other integrated decision-support frameworks used for prioritization, strategy development, and risk assessment.
Risk Analysis and Environmental Prioritization
Another research interest is the assessment of risks and environmental priorities in maritime systems. This includes studies on ship-related environmental risks, port sector sustainability risks, and decision-making models for managing uncertainty in maritime operations.
